Course Description

1-Hour Course
AGD Subject Code: 490/135

Patients often visit dental offices with bleeding gums and visible biofilm, which is usually caused by microbiome dysbiosis. In this course, Kerry will discuss various treatment options such as lasers, to shift patients from dysbiosis to symbiosis. Timely identification and management of periodontal disease can enhance oral health. The importance of utilizing indices to evaluate patients' oral health will be discussed. These indices can provide valuable information about the extent of inflammation and improve communication between the patient and the dental professional. By analyzing the current literature, evidence-based patient recommendations can be presented effectively. The latest research and choices for interproximal cleaning will also be examined. Kerry will demonstrate the selection of appropriate interproximal aids and their effective use to achieve optimal outcomes.

Who Should Attend This Course:

Learn how a diode laser can elevate the dental hygiene department through incorporating surgical (provincial scope of practice specific)  and non-surgical periodontal therapy adjuncts. Additionally, learn the treatment of apthus ulcers and cold sores. Several procedures will be reviewed and demonstrated to highlight multiple benefits for your patients as well as the impressive ROI for the practice.  The Dentist will benefit by attending and understand a strong ROI.
